Lettering and Process is a research project undertaken with the author and designer Andrew Haslam. It will be published as a book by Lawrence King in 2009. The project photographically documents on location the processes by which over one hundred different letter forms are made. These include calligraphy, letterpress, hand cut stencils, tattooing, laser cutting, rapid prototyping, neon signs, vynal lettering and many more. I have included a selection of the processes here. The photographs were exhibited at the 2007 AtypeI typography conference in Brighton.
